This collection, known as OCM Genesis, was the first to inscribe 10,000 unique digital artifacts onto the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol. The Genesis collection was initially launched on Ethereum in September 2021, making it one of the earliest 10K Digital Artifacts. However, its transition to Bitcoin in 2023 was groundbreaking, as it was inscribed in a single transaction, setting numerous precedents in the process. It was the first 10K collection on Block 9, using 450x sats (a reference to the Satoshis, the smallest unit of Bitcoin), and it introduced concepts like Parent-Child Provenance and Reinscription, which are now foundational in the Ordinals ecosystem. This migration underscored the possibility of storing high-quality digital assets on Bitcoin with minimal impact on the network’s efficiency and environmental footprint
